Welcome to the new storytelling forum. I considered making it a group, but, in the spirit of Orn's thriving collaborative storytelling environment, I elected to make it a forum instead. This way folks can give tips, pitch ideas, and volunteer to write for them openly. Several of you have asked for more coordination; here's where you can do that.
I'll kick things off by making the first storytelling request. I had planned to give someone the oracle trait after the Font of Hours in April. However, my final test proved to be too vague. Nobody passed, leaving the storyline dead in the water. I've hit a bit of writer's block as to how to proceed. Any writers out there interesting in picking it up where I left off?
I actually had several ideas of where this could lead, so I would love to collaborate with someone else on this. I'd go for it myself, but my track record for finishing adventures on my own is abysmal. If anyone is interested in working together on this one, let me know.
Of those who went on the mod, I know Bella and Gaia were both actively interested in oracle. Kaelan and Yeou have both expressed some passing interest, as well. Everyone took the test, of course, so they'd all be eligible. The full list also includes Malkonius, Peleus, Sabriel, William, and Swift.
One thing I considered was doing an open play activity. Each of the prospects receives a clue in the form of a dream, which is the first step in a sort of scavenger hunt that leverages knowledge of lore and interpretation of signs. The person to arrive at the finish first gets the trait. Just a thought.
As Brian has eluded too, I wish to throw my hat into the ring for Oracle. Any suggestions that help me what moves to make would be greatly appreciated. If a story is written that gives the chance please let me know so I can be sure and go on that adventure. Thank you.
I like that idea Thad.

Okay, if you're still reading at this point, it's on you. I'm working on an adventure right now that involves the Hands of Fate: while it is part of the overarching plot that I have going at the moment, once the players have helped secure it from the situation it is currently in I plan on using it as a starting point for those interested in the Oracle trait, and welcome other writers to use the Monastery and it's resources for this and other purposes.
Kuna Rick and myself have already laid out a simple setup that can be expanded by other writers. As a brief overview:
●THE HANDS OF FATE: (Lore Excerpt)
"The Hands of Fate - Since the Dawning, a secret brotherhood of seers has maintained a vigil in the name of Banekeril, the Oarsman of the Ages. These seers keep watch over individuals touched by a strong destiny, feeling out their futures, protecting them from harm, and guiding them toward their fate. Whether that fate is for good or ill makes no difference; the Hands of Fate work in secret to ensure that every destiny maintains its course, trusting in the grand design that only the Oarsman himself can see."
●The monastery is planned to have a Mirror Gate.
●The monastery posses an extensive archive of knowledge and prophecy (assuming the players can rescue most of it).
I'm available most anytime, either in chat or PM. I'm not trying to run a whole Oracle trait arc, but I'm trying to put in place a resource that you other writers can use to do so. :)
That's my current goings on at the moment on this subject; hopefully it helps! :D
From reading the mod and assuming that the font was never recovered. Perhaps their trail was followed? Perhaps now the Font of hours is in jeopardy (and seeing as the font is only protected by a small group of priests- it wouldn't be easy to defend).
Perhaps a much more ambitious and ruthless scholar from a major CityShard is following the trail of quill. This new player in the quest for oracle might have the resources to hire a mercenary company to ensure the safety of his voyage, and the silence of those who may know of his/her targets existence. There would be a motivation for this new player in the game to interrogate jastreyan citizens for the location of Quill and information regarding the test that priest of the font asked. This alone may provide enough of a plot hook to make these townsfolk follow this new NPC and try their luck again.
I would be more than happy to work with you on that sir. As marloff continues exploring his past, the monastary of the Hands of Fate will become more open and provide opportunities for those who wish to prove themselves, and perhaps assist the secretive group.
